VMX Virtual Machine Onboarding

The VM Onboarding process is designed to simplify the addition and configuration of virtual machines (VMs) within the hosting infrastructure. This document adheres to cloud standards, outlining the procedures for VM provisioning while emphasizing security measures aligned with best practices.

  1. Accessing the Dashboard:
    • Navigate to the control panel's Dashboard.
    • Click on "Manage" to initiate VM provisioning.
  2. Accessing Virtual Machine Section:
    • Within the Dashboard, locate and select "Virtual Machine."
  3. Initiating VM Creation:
    • Click the "Create in Dashboard" button located on the top-right.
  4. Configuration Details:
    • Define the following parameters:
      • Region
      • Location
      • Cluster
      • Timezone
      • Size
      • Image
  5. Checkout Process:
    • Click "checkout" to proceed with the configured settings.

If you opt for direct VM creation, the backend performs automated tasks:

  • Creates a default VPC and project.
  • Maps the VM directly to the project.
  • Generates a default overlay network mapped to the VM.
  • Assigns a public IP for public access.
  • Post-payment, server details are sent to your email.

This streamlined approach eliminates manual tasks like project, VPC, and network creation, ensuring efficiency and adherence to cloud standards.
